Workplace Flexibility Awards

The Workplace Flexibility Awards is an annual recognition program created to honor U.S. based employers for their best practices in workplace flexibility. It was developed by the Families and Work Institute as part of their research-based When Work Works initiative. The research and awards program highlight how effective and flexible workplaces can yield positive business results and help employees succeed at work and at home.

The Families and Work Institute created the When Work Works partnership with SHRM to co-manage the awards program along with dissemination of research, surveys and tools to SHRM national members.

In December, 2016, The Families and Work Institute returned its focus to research and The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) became the sole manager for the  annual Workplace Flexibility awards program.
