The Garden State Council – SHRM (GSC) is a state level affiliate of the Society for Human Resources Management. It acts as a liaison between SHRM and its 11 chapters in New Jersey, ensuring that they have the information and resources necessary to carry out SHRM’s mission of “Serving the Professional” (STP) and “Advancing the Profession” (ATP). In addition, the GSC implements its own STP and ATP initiatives such as the annual NJ SHRM conference held in October of each year, and establishing partnerships with business-oriented organizations in the state such as the NJ Chamber of Commerce and NJBiz publications.

The Gateway Chapter of SHRM, the Society for Human Resources Management, is at the center of commerce and industry, politics and culture in NJ. Based in Jersey City and serving HR professionals and their companies, the Gateway Chapter is vibrant and dynamic in serving the professional and the profession since 1998.

As Ellis Island is the Gateway to Freedom, our SHRM Gateway Chapter is the portal to Professional growth as we stand at the center of a renaissance in corporate, financial, manufacturing and service business growth being situated between Newark, Northern NJ and New York City.

Our Chapter’s mission is to provide Human Resource knowledge, information and skills development to HR professionals for their career growth and for the support of NJ employers, as well as our workforces either local, or around the globe.

The Gateway Chapter of SHRM is a 100% National Chapter and we are proud to support our members by offering monthly meetings, networking, and camaraderie to all who join.

The Human Resources Association of Southern New Jersey (HRA-SNJ), SHRM Chapter 260, has served professionals to exchange ideas about our work for over 58 years!  HRA-SNJ has been a "SHRM" Superior Award Chapter for every year since 1994.   HRA-SNJ provides the opportunity for our members to gain knowledge about the profession while networking with our colleagues to find solutions to the many issues, challenges and initiatives that we face as employers.

The SHRM-Morris County Chapter is a community of HR professionals offering monthly educational and networking opportunities for our members and the business community. The Atlantic/Cape May chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has active chapter members who are HR practitioners with many local businesses.  We meet 6 times a year on the third Wednesday of the month at the Great Bay Country Club in Somers Point, conveniently located to the Garden State Parkway.  We also have 3 evening meetings a year at local restaurants.  Our monthly programs are educational and provide a Q&A period to allow time for members to engage with the presenters.

The Sussex-Warren Chapter is a small and growing chapter that serves HR professionals who live and work in Sussex and Warren counties and surrounding areas. We offer our members relevant Chapter programming events certified for HRCI credit, legislative updates, volunteer opportunities, and the opportunity to network with member colleagues.

We advance the profession through our annual "financial pledge" to The SHRM Foundation, assisting in the planning of the Garden State Council's Annual Conference, advocating HRCI certification, and being a resource and partnering with local/community organizations such as the Sussex County Chamber of Commerce.
